Why would a restaurant close at 5 on a Saturday in July?

My family has been visiting Island Perk Coffee Shop in Manteo for several years and it never fails to impress. The owners are extremely welcoming and the staff is always friendly and efficient in serving the customers. They offer a wide selection of drinks and delicious treats, making it the perfect spot to grab a caffeine boost or a refreshing lemonade or smoothie. It is definitely a favorite spot for our family!

Even though the governor mandated mask usage for months, the staff member behind the counter was not wearing one when we visited. The restaurant has a charming look and the drink menu was appealing, but prioritizing health and safety regulations is crucial, so we decided not to dine there. It seems that this lack of compliance is not a one-time occurrence, which is disappointing.

I like this place but had to give it one star because neither employee was wearing a mask while working behind the counter. When asked about it, one employee said they only had to stay 6 feet apart. Not acceptable!

Loved my iced mocha. On the stronger side which was perfect. Decent choices. Nice service. Good location
