There was a time we would go here twice or thrice a month just to give in to our Japanese/Korean/Chinese cuisine craving! It was just one of those buffets that we all loved and it sort of turned into a family bonding experience every Sunday. When Sambo Kojin finally opened in Megamall, we knew we had to try this branch out as well, and we did just a few Sundays back. The place was super packed and there were a ton of people waiting in line! But the place was spacious and I believe it could house more than the Eastwood branch can. Its menu was also very extensive and it had items that weren't available in Eastwood. This branch had more choices to choose from and that was just super cool! They had more Japanese, Korean and Chinese dishes to pick from! I swear, just looking at the spread was enough to keep me full! Yakimix, I think, is Sambo Kojin's fiercest competitor in the buffet world but I believe the latter outshines the former. Sambo has more to offer and if you need proof, just go to the Megamall branch and see for yourself!
Wide variety of delicous food offered. The place was nice and was not crowded. The staffs were very accommodating and they dance as well.
I always look forward to eating here while I am in PI...This is one of my GO TO places to eat every time I visit Manila at least once during my stay! Servers are very attentive and food is great. My favorite are the fresh sashimi especially the salmon and I love their suki yaki.
Can you say tabaan hits? Seriously, for P749 you get an all you can eat calorific extravaganza. That includes different kinds of sushi, different kinds of sashimi, selections of tempura ranging from shrimp to fish to veggies, chicken teriyaki, beef rolls, gyoza, takoyaki, okonomiyaki, pork and chicken katsu, miso soup, sakana chiisu, soba noodles, etc. etc. etc. Oh wait! I haven't even touched upon the star of the show! That, dear reader, are plates upon plates upon plates of yakiniku. Beef yakiniku, chicken yakiniku, fish yakiniku, scallop yakiniku, **** eggplant yakiniku. Everything delivered to you raw and ready to cook on your very table. And that's just a fraction of the things you can shove down your gullet. THE WHOLE COUNTRY OF JAPAN CAN BE ON YOUR PLATE FOR ONLY P749!!! This place and Yaki Mix can both take pride in making me grumpy-full every. Single. Time.
The atmosphere and food at this restaurant are good, though not extraordinary; it's definitely better than The Vikings. They offer meal plans that feature either Korean/Japanese cuisine or a collaborative menu (Korean/Japanese/Filipino). As I was passing by the last spread of the Korean/Japanese section, a staff member approached me and asked for my Collab ID. When I told him I didn't have one and asked where to get it, he directed me to the reception. I was aware that we were on a Korean/Japanese meal plan, but he sternly advised me not to take anything from the dishes on the serving pot. I felt frustrated, as I wasn't even looking in that direction—why assume the worst about people? They could have easily set up a barrier between the end of the K/J meal plan spread and the Collab table to prevent misunderstandings like this. As for the halo halo, it was rather ordinary; the ice chunks were large, and they included syrup made from canned ingredients.
