The plain and almond barfi was good, but the rest of the experience was disappointing. The gulab jamun was dense, the jalebi tasted burnt, and the pista barfi had a strange taste. The pakoras and samosas were tasty but pricey, with samosas costing £1.20 each and pakoras priced at £10/kg. To make matters worse, I was charged for six samosas but only received five in the bag. The staff member seemed to intentionally deceive me, making the whole experience even more disappointing. I spent over £50 at this shop and felt shortchanged. Parking in Rusholme was difficult, with limited spaces available for visitors. Overall, I would recommend avoiding the Manchester branch of Ambala and perhaps trying their Leicester location instead. It seems that the quality and honesty of the service has declined.
I purchased a tin of Asian sweets that had mould on them after a few days of bringing them home. There were six pieces in two layers, and unfortunately, one of the pieces in the second layer was mouldy. When I returned the tin to the staff, they did not apologize and instead told me that I should have kept it in the fridge, even though there was no indication on the tin that it needed refrigeration. I spoke to the manager, but he was not cooperative. Overall, I had a disgusting experience with mouldy sweets and would not recommend purchasing the tin.
They closed about 7 minutes early, and we had traveled about 30 miles to get there. When we called, the staff didn't answer the phone, but the lights were still on.
Staff were friendly. Prices very reasonable. Quality is very high. Amazing curry, flavorful chickpeas, buttery sides and crispy fried roti
I love their habshee hallwa, beside many other sweets, highly recommended they do special packs in ramzan so i would highly recommend
