A delightful find as this place is located right beside my favorite spa. I was not able to try their ramen (not a ramen fan!) But sampled their appetizer dishes. If any tips, just buy the appetizers! :) They are reasonably priced and with awesome serving size! I bought great tasting mabo tofu for a stral at P160 -- huge, huge serving :) Bought gyoza but didnt enjoy them. Too oily and they "disintegrated" because they are over steamed.
This restaurant quickly dropped from a really good ramen place to a very bad one. After being a regular for a few months, they offered a new tonkotsu ramen sometime in august which I really liked. On my third trip for that same ramen, I got a bowl of grease. Like it really looked like there was no water in the soup base, just lard. Instead of being apologetic, the waitress tried to pass it off as it really being like that, despite the fact that it was the third time that month that I had ordered it. Sorry guys, I ain't coming back if you try to feed bull___ to your customers. Sayang becaus your ramen was actually very good when you just opened.
We tried out this place as recommended by our foodie friends. The menu was very limited, which to me is a good sign because they really specialize in a few things...and that is ramen. We ordered the Tonkotsu ramen with normal flavor, rich broth and hard noodles & I had the Tan Tan Tsukesoba which is a dry dipping noodle dish in a spicy concentrated pork stock. The tonkotsu was pretty good.Milky, complex and full of umami with the thick soba type hand made noodles. My Tsukesoba was infused with chili and had a highly reduced pork chili dipping sauce which I enjoyed. We also had the gyoza which was not bad at all but one should really gonhere just for the ramen.
Yoshida Seimen is in a building where seemingly all of the adjacent restaurants are Japanese. We decided to eat here, though, because they had a 20% discount promo going on. The interiors were clean and the ambiance was relaxed and cozy. We ordered miso ramen and chicken curry. The ramen was full of stuff like corn kernels and mushrooms, but it had too little soup! The soup is the heart of the ramen. On the other hand, the chicken curry was delicious, prepared just the way I like it with an abundance of delicious sauce.
Food: I am not a ramen fan so when my family invited me to eat at Yokohama, I was a bit hesitant and asked if they serve rice sets. It is Yokohama's second anniversary and currently offering 50-percent off on their meals (kindly check their FB page until when) so instead of ordering rice, I opted to go for their specialty, the ramen. My Tsukesoba Ramen (of course, no side dishes), consists of thick, al dente noodles (you can ask for cold or hot noodles), with cabbage, small amount of pork, nori and one more ingredient (I don't know the name) with separate sauce. I like how my noodles and sauce separate to each other as I am a very slow eater and my noodles get soggy easily. The sauce, if you are not fond of fishy, bonito taste, will be a big meh. But I actually like it, it is very tasty and it perfectly matches the bland noodles. My ramen fanatic brother ordered the Yokohama Ramen and says there's nothing special to it. My mom who ordered Yasai Itame and Nokou Tsukesoba says she enjoyed her dish but did not elaborate why she like it. Servings: Since this is a promo, there's no side dishes. But I'm fine with it and find their ramen heavy. Service: I had no idea what to order at first since they prepared a special new menu for their promo, so good thing they allowed me to borrow the original menu as reference. Service was quick, and they seemed to be alert to your needs (is it because their boss is around?) Price: I don't see myself paying more than P300 for their ramen. It is just ok, but not super wow that I'll come back for it. Location: Easy to find along the Creekside. Inside is a clean, classy, Japanese ramen house with perfect temperature. Will I come back again? Since I am not a fan of ramen, it depends. But most likely I'll come back for the teishoku sets.
