Contribuiți la feedbackMy partner and I spent New Years Eve at Petit Comite and what was expected to be a wonderful dinner was very hit and miss, unfortunately. Despite the advance warning to the restaurant that I’m pescatarian (they followed this up with a call and said they would change the New Year’s menu to cater for me offering vegetarian alternatives to the meat courses), they did not offer me alternatives for 2 courses, meaning my other half sat eating while I didn’t and the vegetarian replacement for the beef dish was a bowl full of 4 different kinds of mushroom. No seasoning, no sauce, just mushrooms. This is really not a satisfactory option for a restaurant that takes itself as seriously as Petit Comite does. I was very disappointed that this was served. I left it untouched the smell alone was very unpleasant and that seemed to annoy the staff as we were then bought out the rest of our courses in quick succession. The absence of food for me for 2 courses I was paying for was also inexcusable. Yes, I don’t eat meat, but they could easily have served me up a small portion of cheese to have with crisp bread, instead of the Fois Gras course, for example. I found it offensive that they didn’t care enough to think it through and just told me I had to “skip the courses”. The courses that I did eat were relatively tasty, but mostly very tepid and ever so slightly bland. For €120pp I don’t feel like we had our money’s worth. The cava and wine were included, but they were also very much “house wine” standard, however a nice touch was the “surprise” bag handed out just before midnight containing a mask, streamers and balloons. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely. Very nice clientele, the staff greeting at the door were very welcoming and it’s a beautiful little restaurant along a quiet street. Our waiter, Alejandro, was covering approximately 5 tables himself, which could probably explain his sassy attitude, but I think the service could have been much better there were other waiters and not all of the tables were booked. He seemed to favour a few tables and overlook others, ours included. In all honesty, I would not go back to Petit Comite and I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant to anyone visiting Madrid either... the venue itself is very nice, but the service and food left a lot to be desired and not a very nice taste in my mouth.
I had the duck it was nice. a little bit expensive, not a big dish. dont have the bread roll its 2.50 euros each.
We wanted an escape from the fast life in Madrid and definitely made it with our choice. This restaurant is very cosy and you have privacy and it’s not noisy and crowded in it. The staff was very polite and concerned if everything okay was. The food is delicious and the portions are huge The tiramisu is definitely worth trying! The best that I’ve tried!
