Thai 99 Kitchen - Lynchburg

The restaurant should be named Thai 101 because they clearly have no understanding of how Thai food should be prepared. This place serves the worst Thai food in America. The Red curry and Basil fried rice lacked flavor and we even found egg shell and hair in our food, forcing us to throw it away. The server was rude and did not provide any napkins or silverware, even though it is a pickup-only establishment. The location is dodgy, with abandoned buildings nearby. I can't understand how this place has an overall rating of 4+ stars unless those ratings are outdated or artificially inflated. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

The food at this restaurant was subpar and not value for money. It lacked seasoning and flavor, making it very bland. The service was also poor, as we were not provided with napkins or silverware. Despite requesting these items, we only received a minimal amount, which was insufficient for our needs. The establishment appeared shady and rundown, with no visible signage to indicate its presence. Overall, not a worthwhile dining experience. Moreover, even after requesting spicy food, the dishes were not spicy as desired.

I don't often have the opportunity to dine here, but I grabbed lunch today and it was as amazing as always. I particularly love the yellow curry, but everything I've tried has been excellent!

I have had better Thai a few times elsewhere. The Thai tea was awesome so was the Mango sticky rice. We ordered over $70 worth of food and the drunken noodles hardly had flavor the curry was watery. The soups were flavorful and better than the entrees but nothing special. The dumplings were stuffed well and had a good flavor. 3 stars because the price didn’t match the flavor or quantity or quality.

The food is delicious! The signs visually yelling at you to stay in your car just make it feel like they're hiding a dirty building, though.
