Contribuiți la feedbackDuring the holiday near Tampa we decided to taste some local seafood. Found this place with Google and it was not disappointed. The food and service are excellent. Portions are huge, and prices are very reasonable. I recommend The Great Catch! I had snow crab legs and onion rings, with Maryland crab cake as an appetizer. I'm sorry, no pictures, but I couldn't wait to dip. Must come back!
Great food for New Englanders and local Floridians! The menu has countless possibilities for seafood and non-Seafood items, and everything is hand-creamed and fried or grilled or smoothed and each product is made from scratches to the dough mix itself. The Coleslaw is the perfect blend of sweet and hearty (naturally made in the house). The more popular options to get that I personally love are the kickin shrimp, the Thursday's special prime rib, the homemade Clam Chowder or Hummer Bisque, and the best lobster rolls south of New England! People come from the whole area of Tampa to eat this food, and I personally feel obliged to stop for a bite, only drive day by day. I suggest that if you haven't tried this place, you have to do it! Even the execution is fresh and crispy!
Since we are from Maine, I love Maine shellfish, we were close to delirious when we are this special restaurant so close to where we live. We are here several times and have brought friends family, also from Maine, so they could enjoy a little away from home. I am especially happy with the lobster roll, it is fresh, all lobster meat, no other stuff in lobster salad except a piece of salad in the floor of the roll that makes it perfect. Food is served by a pleasant fun staff, always polite and fast. We had no single meal or part of a meal that had to be returned to the cook. My only suggestion would be to have a little better light to read the menu. Otherwise, I write this food with a word PERFECTION!
The first time and it won't be our last. After my wife, their Mahi Mahi bite together with a baked potato and broccoli excellent! It was Prime Rib Thursday and I had this together with yellow rice and Koleslaw. The main rib was boiled to perfection, the rice had added a small amount of vegetables that gave it an additional taste and the Koleslaw was about the best I had in years in a restaurant. The hotel is located in a corner of a U-shaped stripe mall it is easy to miss, but it will no longer be for us.
The food is really good here. I've had everything from kickin shrimp, to basa, to boneless wings. Pretty reasonable prices and friendly staff too. I definitely recommend it. I would've given it an even higher rating, except for the fact that they have country music blaring non stop now, and I HATE country music. I'm talking twangy stereotypical country music on constantly, and loud. You can't ignore it. The only place I find this acceptable is a Texas Roadhouse or some other country themed restaurant where you know what you're going into. You expect it to be playing there. But at a seafood and wing restaurant it's completely distracting if you hate country music and ruins the atmosphere. Please lose the loud country music!
