Gohan Japanese Fusion - Lubbock

With 4.1 stars, I was looking forward to eat here. Sadly, it was a complete disappointment. I got udon with garlic pepper and vegetables. Once I ordered, sometimes registers don 't like my credit card 's chip so I have to insert it 3 times, then it 'll let me swipe. After 2 errors, I told this to the cashier so she wouldn 't be weirded out, and for who knows what reason, she told me to enter it manually. So then I had to put all 16 numbers of my credit card, the expiration date and the code in the back... all by hand. Lady, all I had to do was try the chip ONE more time and then we would 've swiped. Could 've taken 3 seconds, instead it took a while to type it all. OK, mistakes happen, I kept my smile and just thought of food. Then the food came. The girl at the register asked if it was for here or to go, I said I 'd eat at their restaurant. 5 minutes or so later, they call me to get my food nevermind it was only me and another couple in the whole place, but please, don 't bother bringing me my food after I just tipped you %20. While the Udon were well done, the rest was a disaster. First: I just told them I 'm eating at the restaurant, and they served me the whole meal in a to go white foam box, with the flimsiest plastic fork I 've used in my life. What??? Can 't you use a few utensils and plates and then turn on the dishwasher? So the experience at this point had been ruined by the service. Food looked good, so I went ahead. In the next 15 seconds, I realized that it was all just drowned in their garlic sauce. It is one thing to give your food some flavor with sauce, but man, this was an ocean of sauce, it overpowered everything, I could taste nothing but the sauce (which was way hot, and nowhere in the menu did it say it was a very hot sauce). I had to end up scooping (flimsy 1 use plastic) spoonfuls of sauce to the other sides of the foam box so I could eat the udon with the veggies. Keep in mind, this was called Make your own bowl . BOWL. Oh boy... between the incompetent service (seriously, fire these people), the unnecessarily lazy and inappropriate way to serve food, and the blatantly excessive amounts of sauce in my food... I scratched the Udon itch I had today, that 's the only good thing I can say about this place. Hopefully the picture I attached can show how imbalanced this whole ordeal was.

**Pros:** - Pleasant interior - Convenient seating near the campus - Free Wi-Fi **Cons:** - Relatively expensive - Slow service I ordered the Korean beef with Udon noodles, which cost $11.36 without any extras. The food took about 15 minutes to prepare, but when it arrived, it was delicious. The quality is quite similar to O'Hana. The only downside is that it's pricier and takes longer to get served compared to other options in the area. However, the food is of higher quality and very fresh. The Korean flavor was fantastic, and the spice level was just below medium. Overall, I'm really impressed!

I visited this restaurant for dinner, and my food was ready in just five minutes. Everything tasted incredible—truly the best food I've ever had! Ramon is fantastic! I would rate this experience a perfect 150 out of 10 and would definitely return without hesitation!

Great atmosphere. Large parts. Very cost-effective. $6 will get you a bunch of tons of rice, soup and vegetables. Add a dollar or two for meat. I'm a big fan of her roasted rice. It is delicious and the Hibachi soup is also not half bad.

I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. The owner genuinely cares about his customers and values their feedback. He is dedicated to expanding the menu and ensuring that it features high-quality dishes that appeal to everyone. The food was excellent, and the portion sizes were just right for a hungry 21-year-old. The bubble tea was a delightful addition, bringing a unique blend of flavors and textures. The prices are quite reasonable as well! Give this place a try, and you won't be disappointed.
