We had spent the morning at the Historic Acadian Village just nearby, and one of the reenactors recommended this place. We loved it! Nothing fancy, but delicious Acadian comfort food served by a delightfully friendly staff. We had lobster poutine that was To Die For, and for dessert had delicious homemade pies that had been cooked by our waitress.
This is a diner/restaurant with a local hometown atmosphere. Any seafood on the menu is extremely fresh as it was just carried in from the ships across the road at one of Nova Scotia's largest lobster wharves. The food was delicious, staff was friendly and Coke was served right from your own bottle. Prices are decent and I enjoyed watching the locals come in and help themselves. I regret not trying their Rappie Pie ( a local Acadian potato casserole), maybe next time!
I may a regular trip to this cafe every 2/3 years when visiting family; it's consistently good with local Acadian dishes
This place was recommended to us primarily due to the lobster poutine. Worth the small detour - very friendly staff, good menu selections and food was served piping hot. The locals seemed to like it and you have a view of the wharf.
