The food did not justify the prices they were charging. Many items, like rice, hashbrowns, and steak, were unavailable. Given that this is a Mexican diner, I expected the refried beans to have some flavor, but they served us plain pinto beans instead. Overall, the food was quite bland. The soda tasted watered down. On a positive note, the chips and salsa were impressive. However, I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for flavorful food.
I've visited this restaurant a few times, usually when I'm passing through Albuquerque before 2 PM. I really enjoy the retro atmosphere and the expertly prepared food. The staff is friendly, and the portions are generous, with everything perfectly seasoned. I've tried the carne asada burrito and the carne adovada enchiladas, both of which came with pinto beans (not refried) and sliced, fried potatoes, along with a choice of red or green sauce—though honestly, choosing both is the way to go. Items from the dinner menu also include a bowl of stew, which was a delightful surprise. Next time I'm in town, I definitely want to sample some of the breakfast options.
As im a red chile gal....its my go to at restaurants...there was No flavor in the Carne adovada. I was expecting at least garlic.Homemade papas were burnt. Hashbrowns undercooked. Friendly staff....Maybe one day I'll give it another try but I definitely left hungry.
Worst service, awful rude waitresses, and it took at least an hour to be served. Order wasn’t taken properly. I’ll never waste money at this place
