Avoid this place; it's closed, despite appearing in Google searches. I wish I had read the one warning review before deciding to come here.
This restaurant offers a fantastic healthy alternative to traditional Mexican cuisine. The service is friendly, and I will definitely remember this place for our next visit to town.
I really enjoy visiting this place whenever I'm in the mood for a quick bite of Mexican food downtown. I usually stick to the shredded chicken, but the other day I decided to try the seasonal El Pastor since it's one of my favorites. I appreciate the variety of toppings and add-ons available, including free guacamole (at least it was free for my friend and me). The Al Pastor was more of a stewed preparation than the typical grilled version you'd expect, but that’s understandable. The only drawback is that the sides tend to be quite soggy, creating a bit of a puddle in the salad bowl. Prices are reasonable for DTLA, around $10-11 for a large portion, though it's not exactly cheap. The outdoor patio is nice, but indoor seating is limited, and it can get pretty crowded during lunch.
One of the top spots for Mission-style burritos in the city. Their burritos are definitely impressive (and make sure you're really hungry, as they are quite large), but I've encountered several occasions where my order wasn't prepared as requested (either with the wrong ingredients or some missing altogether). That said, when they get it right, their burritos are great. However, I think their salsa bar could use some improvement.
