Parking can be hard, but its validated. Service is fast and friendly. Their ice creams are delicious and creamy. They have a wide selection of flavors, so there is one for all! The individual blade was good because you can get 2 different flavors. Definitely recommend when you are GCM!
This is the 4th time that I visited McConnells in the city center last year, where they have accumulated their cookies and cream and I literally walked away because I came out of my way to come to you specifically, and you can not have accumulated your cookies and cream in time. They have been soaked every time from 15 minutes to 30 minutes. I literally took the same car that I parked illegally to get your ice cream, and instead it brought to Whole Foods to get an ice sandwich. Where THEYRE BOMB and available. Will not come back for a GOOOOD minute because you do not feel at all. I take my money and time to someone else who might need more!
Ice was amazing. Recommended for a nice treatment after eating.
LOVEEEEE mcconnells, truly in my top 3 fav ice cream brands and im so happy there's one walkable from my apt :)They were not doing testers when I went so I went with my safe flavor choice of mint chip tastes like andes in ice cream form! I'm taking a star off since a single cost me $8 for a single scoop, so a little ridiculous and I would have been better off getting a pint for $12 honestly. Regardless, I'm still gonna get my mcconnells because it really is that gooooood
This is another of those kinds of places where you just HAVE to try out when you 're in SoCal . As in, through word-of-mouth, it was recommended to us multiple times. That said, they have multiple ice cream shops (scoop shops and also distribute to multiple grocery stores and markets. If you can 't make it back to any of their six SoCal locations but want a flavor you had there, definitely first check out their website 's Grocery Locater. For example, it 's actually pretty thoroughly distributed in the Bay Area, mostly through Safeway and Nob Hill Foods. Please note though, they 're NOT at EVERY Safeway and Nob Hill Foods location. Hence, why you have to check. If they 're not sold at any of your local grocery stores or want a specific flavor, you can order it online for local delivery or national shipping (excluding Hawaii and Alaska . Shipping is expensive though and requires a four-pint minimum. McConnell 's Fine Ice Creams is a small Santa Barbara ice cream company that 's been around for a while in a way you think only the big brands have. Interestingly, they 're actually older than Häagen-Dazs. More importantly though, they are one of the most worth visiting because they work with a lot of local and California partners, and it shows in their flavors. So there are a lot of unique flavors like Avaline Rosé Boysenberry Milk Jam or Eureka Lemon Marionberries. Yeah, boysenberries! XD Along those lines, they market that many of their main ingredients are organic and that they avoid using any additives. So no stabilizers, preservatives, flavorings, dyes, etc. So if you prefer all organic, be sure to ask. They also have enough dairy-free flavors that were still really creamy. (Note, dairy free, not sure if it 's lactose-free. And if you 're a fan, they do a Pint of the Month subscription thing that lets you try their newer flavors ahead of time. Definitely worth noting as they cycle in a lot of new and seasonal flavors. If you 're interested in seeing what new things they have, I would recommend following the blog on their main website as well.We specifically visited their Grand Central Market location. It 's definitely one of the more convenient locations since GCM is a major visiting spot, especially since it 's one of the closest to LAX. The GCM parking garage entrance is on 308 S Hill Street and is $4 for the first 90 minutes, before then charging for every additional 15 minutes and caps at $25. In the central area, there is a series of staircases that goes into the upper area as well as down into the basement to the public bathrooms. Overall, all the ice cream was delicious and had great texture. A wonderful completion to exploring the foodstuff there. XD I 'm definitely visiting their other locations when I go back to SoCal. Especially as I want to try their cones and ice cream sandwiches! Meanwhile, I 'm planning to visit the Safeways that show up on their Grocery Locator to see what they have. X3
