Maru Coffee - Los Angeles

I love their coffee and the location. The barista was friendly but one lady gave me a long stare when I asked for a glass of water in a glass, not plastic cup. My tip, try the flat white/cortado coffee in a real cup, it tastes much better!

Wonderful, coffee and great pastries as well. I made a special trip to this place and was very happy with everything they had to offer. I ended up getting a pour over as well as a croissant. I will happily visit this place again next time I’m in the arts district of downtown LA.

Maru Coffee is pretty hip. Cool music, nice places to work, and really interesting people. Epitome of a cool coffee shop!! Plus staff are super nice:

Maru Coffee demonstrates that light roast beans have diversity of flavors and can be robust without over roasting. The Mexican blend is the transcendence of robust chocolate flavors displacing the need for dark roasts. I love matcha, and Maru does this equally as well as they do coffee. The service was fast, and friendly. Baristas are knowledgeable. Design is simple, and several locals come here to hang for a bit. You won't find many laptops open. Fiddling with the coffee canteen to the right, the design seems smart. It doesn't have many crevasses which will make washing/cleaning easy and effective, plus the closure is simple yet secured insuring that leaks will unlikely occur. This will likely be my next travel mug.
