La Poubelle Restaurant & Bar

My friends and I decided that 2018 would be the year of indulgence for all of us, and La Poubelle was the perfect place to experience it. We sampled the Hemingway cocktail, which was both refreshing and strong. It lived up to its apt name. The coq au vin was cooked perfectly and we even indulged in decadent chocolate mousse for dessert. Our server was efficient and friendly. The atmosphere was chic but not pretentious, which we loved.

I live in the neighborhood. Love this place, and so do friends that I've taken here.

Mixed feelings about this place. The food was standard bistro fare, good but not otherwise notable. Given the lofty prices charged for entrees $42 for a steak, $26 for Coq au vin) the value is poor. The steak seemed like it could have been a standard choice steak from Costco and the coq au vin, although good, was only a leg quarter for $26). Outdoor dining is nice and the staff are pet friendly which makes us come back...but otherwise the restaurant can stand some improvement.

Great bistro. Wish there was more comfortable seating. Maybe cushions on the wooden banquettes.
