We're trying to work our way through the newly minted Michelin list in Los Angeles and were excited to try a place we hadn't heard of before. The ambiance is amazing, with a counter seating around 8 people right in front of the small kitchen where you can see the care put into each course. The menu is very focused around fresh produce, and several specials that depend on what is fresh and delicious that day (we really lovedthis aspect and how much the team cared about each ingredient). While some might be offput by the mostly vegetarian menu, you will not be disappointed by the masterful preparation and quality. We did find that the meat dishes were notquite as finessed as the vegetables (which is their specialty so that makes sense) but they were still very solid. We had such a great time talking with the team throughout the meal, and opted for the very generous and reasonably pricedwine pairing which was full of very interesting picks we enjoyed a lot. One of the best meals we've had in a long time also happens to be one of the most affordable high quality tasting menus in LA, which makes this an absolute can't missin my mind. The price can drive up if you choose a lot of supplements, but after trying all of them with sharing, the main menu is where the star dishes are anyway so you won't be missing out if you stick to the book in myopinion. Reservations can be tough to get, so plan in advance you won't regret it!
Chef Menes is a consummate professional. The tasting menu here is amongst the best that L.A. has to offer. Everything dish was thoughtfully conceived, meticulously prepared and tasted delicious.
Took my girlfriend here for a Valentine's dinner incredible unique menu, really cool ambiance in terms of watching the food be made, and great experience talking to the chef and the service staff. I'd say it's a bit pricey and the corkage fee was INSANE $75 a 20% gratuity on top of that), but for such a unique experience i'd still recommend. I'd recommend doing the research on this restaurant and understanding its appeal as the price point won't make it a great pick for everyone.
The experience was amazing. From the introduction to the meal. Every course that was not only stunning but made the palette sing. The wine pairing complimented and enhanced each bite.
My husband and I have been dying to dine here for some time. To our surprise, we were finally able to coordinate our busy schedules and make reservations for Valentine’s Day. The atmosphere was intimate and the service was superb. Each exquisite course was paired perfectly with a delectable glass of wine. Both mine and my husband’s favorite dish was the grass fed beef which was cooked to mere perfection with an impeccable crust and buttery center. We will definitely be taking friends and family to partake in this magnificent experience.
