Contribuiți la feedbackThe other day, I joined a hilarious group of fellow food bloggers to try out a new BBQ place in Marylebone called The Joint. As a disclaimer, I was a guest of Kapranos PR for the event. That being said, I would have happily paid for almost everything we tried out that night.
...they are taking a slightly different route and offering a variation on the theme with BBQ pulled beef, pork and chicken fillings inside homemade crunchy topped buns the size of your face. And ribs. Of course they do ribs! Sides come in the form of chicken wings, onion rings and short sticky ribs all wrapped up in paper with helpful identifying labels oh and there’s a duck. Each table comes equipped with its own Joint mug filled with all the napkins (you'll need em) and a leftovers bin inlaid into the table although it took us most of the meal to figure out what it was, perhaps we were distracted by the onion rings.
I've been working in Marylebone now for little over three years and it still amazes me just how much this place keeps changing. There are so many high quality restaurants now in this area, that I simply just can't keep up with them all, but yet with the majority, one thing continues to trend the prices. It's all becoming very high end, yet still at the other end of the spectrum, burgers and American style food is flourishing in this part of town. Marylebone's newest addition however, The Joint , isn't going to cost you a mortgage, in fact it will fill you up for less than £20 and probably leave you with change. The Joint’s pulled pork is top-notch, but that can’t hide the fact that the rest of the menu is merely satisfactory and hasn’t evolved to meet the competition from London’s other barbecue restaurants.
Hidden in shadows of Oxford Circus back streets is the latest offering of BBQ restaurant. The Joint was born from a pop up, by Warren and Darren a chef and a baker. The Joint has been around Brixton for a while and their new site in New Cavdendish Street just opened. For all your delicious mouth-watering smoky pulled pork and short ribs needs head down there whilst you can.
