I visited this franchise of KFC prior to the second national COVID-19 lockdown in the UK. This was my first time visiting a KFC and to be fair it did exceed my expectations. The chicken was decent, as were the chips and gravy which accompanied the offering. It's obviously not gourmet dining however it serves a purpose. This place is situated in the St John's Market food court, which is a bit unfortunate as this is not the most upmarket shopping outlet. It has undergone renovation, however it's not got the best reputation. The tables were fairly clean, which was surprising seeing as my experience of food courts is that they're generally not very hygienic. Then again, I did visit in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, meaning that the outlet was likely undergoing enhanced cleaning regimes. The staff were also friendly, which is always good to observe. The only downside is that the staff prefer you to order on the touchscreen. Not only is this an impersonal experience (I prefer to order from a real person), the screens are very confusing and difficult to navigate. I am fairly technologically-literate, however I had a lot of problems trying to input a simple order, which made me look stupid in front of a load of people. McDonald's uses a similar screen to order food and their system is far simpler, so clearly this is an issue confined to KFC. Please bear this in mind when visiting. Overall, not a bad place to eat. I prefer cafés and coffee shops, compared to fast food outlets, however this place could have been worse. If you like breaded chicken especially, this is definitely a place which would suit.
Fast and friendly service however my chicken burger wasn’t super warm, probs been sat out for quite a bit. However, would recommend coming tbh
First of all, they took 20 minutes. Now it was lunch so that’s my fault. Irritating but minor. Before I purchased my meal I asked if there was a breast. I was told yes. I was handed my bag at the same time as someone else, who immediately walked away, I had to walk over to her and switch bags. I sit down to open my mega box and there’s half a chicken breast in there, I picked it up to inspect it and it hadn’t been tampered with so I took it back and asked for another. I was told there was no more and that’s how they look, do I look like I was born yesterday? It was only slightly bigger than a mini fillet. I was told i could switch my chicken but not for another boneless piece even though 1. Id asked if they had a breast before the purchase specifically because I don’t like chicken on the bone and 2. KFC’s all over Liverpool accommodate their guests if they’ve purchased something and not been given what they wanted. And then the staff are rude too, the boy who served me (Alex or Ben was lovely but the larger lady was rude af. When the manager asks who the refund is for (which I demanded, because I’m not being ripped off the larger lady wants to say her without looking at me. Like really? You’re gonna have an attitude when you’re not providing the same service as other stores?. The funny thing is, I walked outside to the kfc across from the pub and got given a breast more than twice the size instead of one the size of a child’s fist
For a start off the new KFC chips are rank. Went to this KFC today and ordered a large mini fillet meal with pepsi and a medium gravy. Got to my table and had a drink of the pepsi first which tasted absolutely awful and then opened my gravy to find it was so thick that a straw stood up straight in it, I decided to still try it and oh my god it was vile so went back to the counter and asked for another gravy to be told that the whole batch will be the same as someone different had made it that day, im sorry but it doesnt matter who makes it, if it looks like that then you start again and make a fresh batch. Was offered another side but I just asked for my money back which I dont think they were too happy about. All KFC staff need training as the last few I have had from different restaurants have been awful.
