There's canoe rental available, you can also go swimming in the river and there's a beach. The pool was out of order unfortunately. The bathroom/showers were good. The camp store had a lot of stuff for camping as well as snacks and drinks. Overall would recommend. This was a kids friendly music festival too!
Our first time at the park. We are avid equestrians always looking for new places to ride. This was by far (once we found the trails) a favorite and we will be back with a larger group. No one working there could really help us with the trails and the maps are terrible so we asked some fellow campers and they helped. Great place to camp with your horses. Loved the paddocks. We had to clean ours before we could put our horses in but once the front office found out, they flew into immediate action and hauled away the manure and provided us a wheelbarrow for future use. Only negative experience was while we were out riding, a staff member of the park was driving a golf cart and another staff member following in a small pickup came “flying” around a curve barreling toward us! I mean flying!! My horse was so frightened I thought he would run out in front of the truck and the driver kept coming! We had to scream at him to slow down and stop. By then my horse was in flight mode and trying to run in the other direction. We had no problems with golf carts before or after that incident. All the visitors drove following the rules (mostly) as did the rest of the staff. I don’t know who these employees were but I had seen them throughout the 4 days we were there. They will get someone seriously injured if they don’t follow the park rules and maintain the speed limit. Other than that, this is a very fun place to come to and experience. So much to do besides ride the beautiful trails. We will be back.
This place is awesome!! The staff was so friendly. The cabin was very nice. More than once I was pleasantly surprised by the staff going out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful time. Seriously, this place is first class and beautiful. Lovely sand beach river too. Tons of natural beauty to see by golf cart or walking. Also NOT expensive! Very reasonable. It’s going to be a place I visit regularly.
Really love coming here, but beware of the dust at festivals. We got sick for a few days, sneezing up dirt after Resonate, and it's not even a big festival. I've been to Hulaween so I know about the dust, but wasn't expecting it at a smaller fest. Definitely will be bringing more masks next time, possibly even my construction respirator.Walkability: Good to bring bikes and go down to the river
I struggled to find the playground, as I wasn't given clear directions—only a map that wasn’t much help. After driving around and getting lost, I finally discovered it much later, only to find there were no restrooms nearby. On the third day, I managed to catch the maintenance guy, who was nice but reluctant to let me help clean the bathroom. I needed to remove a spiky spider nest that was within reach of my two-year-old. The bathroom was in such poor condition that I understood his hesitations. He didn't have proper mopping supplies, so I took it upon myself to clean with a broom, a dirty mop head, and a squeegee. It looked much better afterward. Unfortunately, we were then hit by a heavy rainstorm, resulting in over three inches of flooding while we were camping. The lady at the front desk was extremely rude when I approached her, soaked and desperate. She told me I had to drive around and look for another campsite but insisted it needed to have a 30-amp hookup. I barely understood what she meant, especially since everything in our tent was drenched. She didn’t even offer to help find a solution, which left me feeling overwhelmed and disgusted. Long story short, I eventually called the office to ask for a manager. Carol was great and offered us the option to move just 20 feet away, but after the filthy bathrooms, the overly chlorinated pool, and the rude treatment, I decided to leave. I felt undervalued, probably because we were in a tent. It was strange that no one seemed to be driving around before the storm, yet after the downpour, it felt like over 30 people passed by on their carts within ten minutes. Not one person stopped to ask if my kids and I needed help, even though they could clearly see we were flooded. The entire experience left me feeling like I would never return. I wish I had taken more photos, although I do have a video. I'm just disappointed that I wasted my time, money, and energy here. The only positive was that I learned from the experience, and they did refund part of my payment, which was a small consolation.
