Delicious, fresh sushi awaits you at Kukuis, conveniently located near the bar by the pool at the Kauai Marriott Resort in Lihue. You can place your order at the counter, the bar, or at Kukuis itself. I tried the shrimp tempura and the crunchy spicy poke tacos. The shrimp was crispy and cooked to perfection, and I regret not ordering more than one roll. It came with pickled ginger and the usual wasabi on the side. The tacos were a bit messy but well-spiced and topped with a fantastic fresh sauce. The wonton shell was both tasty and crispy, providing a wonderful contrast to the soft filling inside. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to try another excellent roll!

The sushi here is disappointing! It doesn't taste fresh; the hamachi was pale, tough, and had a strong fishy flavor. The ahi was decent, but the rolls were underwhelming. You’d be better off getting sushi from a supermarket.
