Kalapaki Joe's - Lihue

Tried to eat here but was turned away because we weren’t local. A local group with same number in their party came after us and the girl looked at us and said “not for you, and escorted them in”. Go to Lilikoi Bar and Grill instead, great service and very friendly environment!!

Service was unbelievably horrible. We waited 30 minutes with no drinks before I had to go to the bar to ask for them and then waited another 10 minutes with the bar half empty. The food was even worse : the calamari was giant slices and half cooked (absolutely disgusting) then my “entree” looked and tasted like fried, frozen chicken nuggets on a bed of rice with canned gravy. I will never eat at Kalapaki Joe’s. Rudest bartender I’ve ever seen.

This restaurant is situated in a shopping center and features a spacious seating area both indoors and outdoors, along with clean restrooms. The food was absolutely delicious! It would also be an ideal venue for larger gatherings, especially with the comfortable outdoor seating. We happened to visit just before we had to meet for our helicopter tour. Both my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals; we tried the Nobu poke nachos and the ahi avocado poke. The service was a bit slow, as there was only one server/host on duty, but overall, we had a great experience.

The atmosphere was nice with the windows open and fans running, but it was a bit warm and humid since there was no air conditioning. Overall, it's a fantastic place with great food and amazing prices!

The food is fantastic and vibrant! It’s the best margarita I’ve ever tasted, and I’m from Texas.
