Carvery - Lichfield

The service at this restaurant was impressively quick and friendly. The food was delicious and exceeded my expectations. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. I will definitely be coming back.

I had lunch at the restaurant today and was a bit disappointed with the food. The service was excellent from the young lady serving us, but the main course was not up to par. The roast beef was very dry and overcooked, and the sides seemed like they had been sitting on hot plates for too long. We didn't try the black and lemon dishes. The turkey was good, but the overall quality was lacking. We also enjoyed the soup and cold meat and melon board. It was quiet and late in the afternoon, so that may have contributed to the disappointing carvery. I hope they can improve. - Alan.

I enjoyed a delicious three-course meal at this restaurant. The food was great, the service was friendly, and the overall value was excellent. I was very satisfied with my experience.

Visited with a party for a birthday party, sat in the lounge / bar through the bay window, ice cold to say the least, decided to move into the kitchen, iron, asked the waiter to turn the heating, if possible, noticed that. a stand alone heating was set, not good enough!, provide a warm environment in which to eat please! on a positive note were the appetizers and suppe excellent, no complaining there, the carvery was simply excellent with a selection of meat, quite brilliant!, the whole sweet were beautiful, the gravy and other comparable sauces were excellent. the service of the waiter was remarkable, attentive, polite and so helpful, the young man who served our table was so helpful and paid attention to our needs very nice, we felt still cooled until the lunchtime, when other tables began to be populated and body warming that I appreciate the extra warm, first shamed on them very well for still warm we would come back if the problems were to be addressed with the warmth, then we would be natural, but with the winter that arrives a little early, maybe not until the summer months, as adage even the loos were iron men and women. more special thanks for the congratulation board of my father in law a beautiful and very appreciated gesture, and again a special mention for the young waiter who served us a recognition for their hotel.

My wife and I visited today for a carvery meal, we were shown to a table and then asked what our needs were we asked for a carvery meal only, we were told that their restaurant only served served or course meals and...were politley asked to go into the bar for a bar meal. Sadly we did not feel welcomed and left their loss as we have previously visited the George and have enjoyed course meals before however, on this occasion we only wanted a meal. Don't think we will bother with this venue in the future.
