Contribuiți la feedbackAfter many visits to Tony’s, this last one was far from exceptional. The hostess with dark hair was incredibly rude from the moment we walked in. Never spoke, walked us to our table, which was not the most ideal or comfortable, slammed our menus down and walked off. That set the tone. Our server was friendly, however had to ask for drinks and refills. I questioned getting the pasta dish and against my better judgment I did. No flavor. None. After a 400.00 evening here for two, it was a huge disappointment.
It's... Ok. I've been to many restaurants that I would consider to play in the category this one considere itself in, and it's not really up to par. The prices are crazy compared to the quality you get. The meats are good, but which decent restaurant doesn't make a good steak. It's no trick. The pasta dishes are a joke. Lacking In flavor and the cook doesn't seem to know the meaning of al dente since the pasta wasn't even in the vicinity of the neighborhood where al dente lives. I honestly would have been disappointed in the pasta dishes even if they were half the price. I have no problem with spending good money on good food. But not on ok food! The atmosphere was noisy and not for me, but that's personal. I'm sure there are many who would like it.
Very good service, very nice place, the balet parking is a gem. but... the tables and chairs are too crowded, the high benches are so uncomfortable , I didn 't like the food, I 'm sorry... my salad was tasteless, my dish was very beaten , you couldn 't even see the shrimp, these themselves were dry. and the rest a bit salty. It 's not bad, but it 's not good, much less surprising, I can 't say I want to go back to eat such a thing. I tried several of my friends ' dishes and none of them surprised me.
My wife my mother and I brought Thanksgiving to our daughter an athletic trainer at UK Based on recommendations of my daughters best friend, a Lexington Lawyer, we decided to celebrate our daughters birthday (26) and our anniversary (37) at Tony’s Loved the valet service; the receptionist were great. Happy hour was fantastic due to the great service of Adley! Dinner was EXCELLENT- the knowledge, service and personality of Allison combined with the great food and atmosphere made for a wonderful eating All Superb: Blue point oysters Seared Ahi Tuna tartare 9oz filet Blackened Yellow Fin Tuna Jack’s Dry Aged Bone In New York Strip We are from Tampa; hands down this beats Berns, Charlie’s and Ruths Chris Bottom line: Will we return- Absolutely My one question to Tony Ricci: When does the Tampa Tony’s open?
Tony’s of Lexington is a tradition with every year we will splurge at least once and have a perfect over the top meal. This year we choose our anniversary. I always do my reviews as comparisons in the same style of restaurant, so the rating is based on this being what I consider the best traditional steak house I’ve eaten at. The food was spot on, everything was first bite “ Oh my God Wow that’s good” kind of experience. My wife’s steak was perfect and tender even though she orders them well. How they keep the meat that tender at that temperature is beyond me. The sides were great and hearty, try a couple most of them travel well. The true experience at this restaurant is the above and beyond service and more importantly the pride they take in themselves as service professionals and in their restaurant. They are committed in and it shows. Only thing that didn’t come as expected, but wasn’t a bad thing was the lack of the orange garnish (whether peel or slice) on my Negroni. First time I’ve seen that, don’t know if it is a thing or not. That being said the drink was perfect and strong.
