Contribuiți la feedbackVisiting from North Carolina and decided to walk to a random bar, came upon Ramsey?s. The food (buffalo chicken salad with house made blue cheese dressing) was incredible, Kentucky mule was fantastic, and the staff was very helpful. Perhaps the best chickenI have ever had. May have to go for dinner as well. Only suggestion is adding Wi-Fi as the service isn?t great in that area.
This place is great. I didn?t get to try the pies but apparently they are great!! I would highly recommend this location to any looking for southern food.
**Pros:** - Their butterscotch pie was outstanding! - The restaurant was surprisingly empty at 4 PM on a Saturday. **Cons:** - This location is situated in a strip mall, which gives it very little ambiance. - It was freezing cold inside the restaurant. Seriously, you might want to bring a blanket for your legs and a jacket—it’s hard to enjoy your meal when you’re that uncomfortable. - The chairs were quite hard and uncomfortable. - The food didn’t meet the usual high standards I’ve come to expect. - The blackened catfish was overly spiced, had a mushy texture, and cooled down quickly in the chilly atmosphere. - The flavor of the green beans was lacking, and they were stringy. - The fried tomatoes were bland, overly greasy, and so thinly sliced that they were mostly breading. - The hush puppies were rather doughy. - The cornbread was just okay—cold and served without butter. - Like many places these days, they seemed to be understaffed, which meant I had to hunt down someone for napkins or drink refills, leading to a long wait just to place my order. (On a positive note, the server was very friendly.) I feel bad for writing such a critical review because I usually enjoy their menu and dishes!
I had one of the biggest pieces of catfish I've ever had, and it was absolutely delicious. The fries were crispy and the coleslaw was excellent. The apple fritters, however, didn’t quite meet expectations. My wife and brother-in-law were really pleased to see beets offered on the menu. The restaurant was busy and the service was a bit slow, which is understandable these days with staffing shortages. The staff was friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.
We visited Ramsay's in Kentucky for the first time yesterday. My husband and I met Jason, the manager, who was incredibly friendly and even shared that he used to live in Maryland, where we're from. He went above and beyond to assist us and introduced us to a lovely waitress named Lizzy. I discovered that I really enjoy vinegar and jalapeño water, and they also have an amazing peanut butter pie! Thank you for the pie! We're so glad we stopped by for delicious food and fantastic service.
