Contribuiți la feedbackEating was really good. there was something to wait, because I think they're short. but different from that, it was a pleasant experience and I plan, again much more!
The food was good, nice atmosphere and intentional, but I think they are short-circuited. we didn't get any refills on drinks or the hot sae I asked (the waiting queue didn't come back until she gave us our queue) but she was still friendly and pulled our table when we asked to get one through the windows! So it is completely understandable.
I have at here probably 50 times in the last year and I am always recommending this lace to everyone. Today was a disappointment. The waitress was super nice but had to ask for condiments twice but they were busy and short staffed. I ordered French toast and it was as gooey and undercooked as possible. Could not eat it. It was like raw dough. They brought me a fresh order and it was somewhat better but still doughy in the middle. Ate around it. This is my first bad experience ever here.
Pros: Ambiance, shopping for books before or after dinner. In nice weather, you can sit on the balcony behind Joseph Beth and look out over the pond. Good drinks and desserts! Sometimes you can even sit at a table in the bookstore itself. Cons: the food is not very good and is very overpriced. The food was a lot better about a year ago but has gone downhill. We recently waited about 40 minutes for a chicken sandwich and a pasta dish. The pasta sauce had separated from being out for too long, and the sandwich was not seasoned at all (it was supposed to be jerk chicken). Our bill for two plates and one soft drink was over $40.00. Overall, I think it’s absolutely worth going here for a drink or a coffee, but the food is not worth it. The environment is so great. I think Joseph Beth should consider turning this space form a full-service restaurant to a coffee shop, though. This restaurant has gone up and down a lot over the years, but who doesn’t love a counter-service coffee shop in a bookstore?
Nice patio, mediocre food. It wasn’t bad, but the food was bland bordering on flavorless.
