Sainsbury's Cafe - Lewes

Popped into the cafe before our shopping adventure, lovely friendly staff and great coffee......huge thanks to Kym who is always makes us feel very welcome,,,,,,keep up the good work Kym.....

We ordered two big breakfasts and where informed that there was no bacon, by husband asked if they would like him to get some bacon off the shelf and was told they are not allowed to do that, so we asked for extra toast and was told no we could only have extra sausage but nothing else, so we asked if we didn’t want extra sausages could they knock a little bit off the price but was told no, after we ordered we saw a staff member go from the cafe to the store for extra bread we couldn’t quite work the logic out there, not impressed with the unhelpful response, if they don’t have what is on the menu then surely it wouldn’t hurt to replace it with an alternative customers choice

My friends wanted lunch so decided to go to Sainsbury's Cafe instead of McDs or KFC. I was really excited while I was queuing as they have Christmas roast turkey dinner, hot turkey baguette as well as the usual items. To my disappointment, none of that was available except for Ham, egg and chips, lasagna, tikka and macaroni cheese which was written on a piece of paper. Since we were all there, I ordered the mac n cheese which they said would take half an hour so we ended up only having tea. Overall very disappointed because they only had 4 staff that day. I don't know when I will even get another chance to go to Sainsbury's Cafe because not every branch has the Christmas dinner and I don't drive!!

Newhaven is not blessed with cafes that are open outside of Normal hours, so I gave this place a try , for a week or two. The service, was , invariably poor. Staff snapping We aren 't open yet whilst talking to their family on their mobile, or stopping serving customers to deal with a query from a member of shop staff. What finally did it for me was when all the tables were wet, and I had to take some napkins to dry mine, then I saw the colour of the napkin... That was closely followed by a game of hunt the clean cutlery. That was enough, the transport caff around the corner for me , cleaner, a welcome and dry tables, all the things Sainsbury 's can 't manage to provide.

So nice seeing Kelly and all the cafe staff at Sainsbury Newhaven again.Lovely service as always. Definitely we'll come back soon. Raz&Jamie
