Contribuiți la feedbackWe went to Crafthouse for Afternoon Tea on a Sunday afternoon. This was my second time here, my first time wasn't a great experience but I thought I'd give them benefit of the doubt and give them another shot. Unfortunately the service was identical. We were seated promptly and staff seemed friendly enough. Drinks from the menu took a further 15 or so minutes to arrive, with our Afternoon Tea (or at least part of it) arriving another 20-30 minutes after that. That was the last time we were attended to by any staff. The food itself was nice, however we weren't offered tea. This was the same experience we had last time we attended. We'd already been at our table quite some time when we'd finished food and couldn't wait any longer so just asked for the bill. Given our bill came to almost £100 with the added gratuities, charity donations and other upcharges, and given our Afternoon Tea didn't come with tea (I mean it's in the name), and given this was the second time this has happened, I can confidently say we won't be going back to Crafthouse. Very overpriced for the service that you receive. I've had cheaper, far nicer Afternoon Tea at Fortnum Mason! It even came with tea!
Absolutely fantastic afternoon tea, we were given it as a Christmas present off our daughter. 100% recommended this place. Such a nice touch that it was not just sandwiches, also had hot food, see my pictures everything was fresh and tasty. The cake selection was amazing too delicious scones with jam cream. I like lots on mine, the staff happily supplied me with more! We had free flowing prosecco for 1.5hrs too, our glass was never empty..staff very attentive!! Would definitely recommend The Crafthouse, I think the best Afternoon Tea I have had. Thank you
What can I say? The service was amazing!! Eve and Laurie were great!! Eve is this bubbly and smiley character that made my day happier and brighter. Laurie was this cool suave type which is needed for this type of restaurant. Anyways, aside from that the food was ok though such a shame that I couldn’t add another patty to my cheeseburger. My parents ate a whole lobster, the grilled aubergines and the pork chop in one swoop, because the food was delicious : The views though at night was great and I do love the decor!!! Definitely coming back though, when I am not in London, Oxford or traveling the world.
We 'd been meaning to go to Crafthouse for a while and finally managed it for a Sunday lunch on a blustery Sunday the offer was very reasonable compared to some prices £25 for 2 courses. We came up in the private elevator from the road a nice touch; but then were left waiting in a corridor for 5 minutes whilst staff rushed around a half full dining room, then taken straight to our seats in the bar side of the restaurant we would have had a view of Boar lane and South Leeds if the blinds across the windows hadn 't;t all been fully down I can appreciate there would have been some glare earlier in the day, but the sun had already set when we arrived and so half our view was of greige. Service was a bit 'by the numbers ' there was a set order they worked in and we wouldn 't be allowed to order food at the same time as a drink even though we were ready. Starters were OK cured salmon was tasty and well presented, though the accompanying slice of brioche looked a little mean and unevenly toasted; the prawn cocktail was very salty prawns with a limp and tired salad and not enough Marie Rose. Mains were where it all fell apart we were offered beef or lamb either well done or pink and both settled on well, as medium was not allowed; Both meats arrived rare, and though tasty were very tough and gristly cuts, with a lot of visible fat around and through the meat. Veg were OK, though didn 't;t feel particularly freshly cooked. With a (very good) rum old fashioned at £18 the total came to £76 including a 12.5% service charge. Ambiance was noisy, with some dance ish music a bit too loud for my tastes perhaps closing the door on the very noisy group in the glassed off 'private ' dining room would have helped. I 'm glad we went, but there are much better options for the price, or less don;t think we 'll return.
Big party. All Sunday lunch options still available. Alesha was amazing. Wine was also lovely and so much choice.
