I’ve had many phases of orders but my go to right now is the Taylor ham, egg and cheese with a hash brown on a French toast bagel. Great food, better people I wish I could have it every day!
If you value customer service, and being a good human don’t come here. Go to Alfas down the road, they deserve your business way more. I go order an iced caramel latte and a New Orleans cold brew to the young worker, she was fine. Then the owner comes out and says Beanbury (the place next door which her son owns) sells the New Orleans cold brew coffee, and she seemed to have gotten annoyed by this. (The owner) She had attitude at this point, which was uncalled for because I have only been here once or twice before, and I was just blindly ordering for my friend and I. Then I ask for a water-cup for my dogs outside, since I was already inside. My exact words were, “Well since I have you here do you mind if I get water cups for my dogs outside?” The owner rolls her eyes at me, and hands me two plastic containers. It annoyed her even more that I had to specifically ask for water inside the plastic containers LOL. Anyways she finishes off the interaction by blurting out to me in a rude sarcastic manner, “you brought your dogs out and you didn’t bring any water?” Which was the final straw that pushed me to write this review. I responded with, “I brought water but they just drank it all” either way the whole interaction was unpleasant and I don’t plan on bringing my business back to Java Joes or Beanbury.
I really do love the food. But I’m really sad that we no longer will be going anymore. We have tolerated the cashier man’s for so long because the interactions are short but the other day, we called ahead and when we got there, we just politely asked when it would be ready because we called 30 minutes earlier and the man basically said “so what” such a rude way. And we just don’t want to start our days off badly anymore. It would’ve been fine if he just said that it’s taking longer because of the wait. Or anything professional in that matter. I always get anxiety when I pay because I’m scared of his attitude and it makes me uncomfortable, so we just finally decided we didn’t want to deal with it anymore and go somewhere else now on. But if you have no problem with unwarranted attitude, the food is good.
When you have no patience for the general public and make a mediocre bagel, a bagel shop on route 10 shouldn’t be your business. Waited ten minutes to order, then paid and tried to order coffee and was berated by an angry New Yorker behind the counter. Bagel was fine, but around here you’ll get better, faster and friendlier like ten feet away East or West, better and faster bagel)
I find the staff to be friendly and service quick. It's in a convenient location with lots of indoor seating. But the bagels are not your typical boiled and chewy jersey bagel. They are more bread like and have a cornbread flour on the bottom that adds a crunch.
