Reddans Of Bettystown

We were stuck for a place to eat as we'd arrived to town late. We had our misgivings about the appearance of this place but the service was FANTASTIC! and the fish and chips were awesome. Truly some of the best we had in our two weeks visiting Ireland. They were so friendly we went twice!

Popped in here for a bite to eat. Upon entering it was empty but put this down to the time of day. The serving staff were extremely helpful and polite. Food was ordered soup came out lukewarm and the fresh homemade bread was stale, certainly wasn’t made that day. Spinach and ricotta cannelloni came out and I am disgusted that any chef would think it okay to serve what they did. It had clearly been reheated to the point the only evidence of sauce was the ring on the dish, the pasta was rock hard. I’m all for supporting local businesses but if this is what you get it’s no wonder the place was empty. Such potential for this restaurant going to waste.

Alsolutely terrible food. I had scampi and my girl friend had salmon. The chips and roast potatoes were brown and tasteless. Some of the scampi weren't even cooked. Surely the health inspectors need to look at this place. Two of the kitchen staff were horsing around with some of the customers in the dining room.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Was worried as some of the reviews were not great. I must say everyone here were amongst the friendliest staff we have encountered on our many trips. The receptionist who booked us in was both friendly and great fun. In the restaurant where we eat both nights the staff were very friendly especially Aoife. In the breakfast restaurant the young staff were lovely and the 'older ' waitress was very pleaseant asking us where we visited, etc.. The bar staff were also very talkative. The housekeeping staff, mostly Ukranians, always spoke when we passed them. The food was very good and very quick (I hate slow service! . Bettystown itself was still asleep for the winter so a lot of places were not open. The Chinese restaurant was very busy and we could not get a table there so book early. There were a number of pubs in nearby Laytown that looked great. The beach is out of this world and very clean. Will go back.

Beautiful food, great choice, excellent staff. Great entertainment in the Bar afterwards. I will definitely be back.
