The Gastopub

My husband and I went to dinner last night to celebrate his birthday, and we had an amazing experience. I am a vegetarian with a lactose allergy, so I usually have to ask for vegan options. Since there wasn't a vegan option on the menu besides a spicy curry, I asked if there were any other options available. The chef kindly offered to make me a portobello mushroom stuffed with couscous and mango chutney for starters, and a vegan meatball and vegetable dish for the main course. They also had vegan brownie and vegan ice cream for dessert. It was honestly the best meal I've had in a long time. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the sauce on the main course. It's a shame that these dishes aren't on the menu, as I would highly recommend that the restaurant add them. The service was excellent as always. I have always enjoyed the food at this restaurant, but this was my first time dining there since becoming lactose-free, and I was truly impressed. A restaurant and chef truly show their skill when they can provide vegan and vegetarian options that go beyond the usual stir fry or risotto. My husband and our two guests also loved their meals. We were all extremely satisfied customers and are already looking forward to returning again!

We went to your restaurant afew weeks back and I'm not usually one to write reviews especially with the way things are at the moment, but I have to say something...your food was lovely, your staff were so friendly but your cocktails are shocking!! We ordered 2 Cosmo and 2 Pornstar Martini. 2 cocktails that are pretty easy to make(I was a bartender for 15 years) Lads, I've never in all my years come across such badly made drinks. Your manager got pretty defensive when we politely said we weren't happy with them and said your head barman made them! If he is your head barman you may want to invest in abit of basic cocktail training. As I said, everything else was lovely but the drinks and the attitude we got really put a dampener on our evening.

I recently went for food and drinks with friends at this restaurant. The atmosphere was fantastic, the food was delicious, and the cocktails were great. The staff were all wonderful and took care of us from the moment we arrived. I will definitely be returning soon.

We couldn’t recommend the village enough, great food, services and atmosphere. Always a safe bet! Never disappointed

The food quality is subpar and there are long waiting times to order food. On both mornings, we waited 1 to 1.30 hours to receive our food. Additionally, the wrong order was brought to our table.
