Magdalena's - Lambertville

First time here and it was packed with one waitress and one bartender. We knew we needed to be patient. We did get drinks fast for being so busy. There was little black specks of something floating in my very sweet margarita. Food orders were taken and the plate of food that they presented to us was not soup kitchen acceptable. Extremely greasy with little black particles on the chicken tender. That means the fryer is way over due for a cleaning and fryer oil change. The plate of beans had a hard, miniature mountain high, it was old and hard. The hard shell taco was suppose to be hard and it was soggy with fryer oil. It was only edible for wildlife and stray cats and dogs. Besides the food, the waitresses had a very positive attitude for the stressful job at hand.

I'm sorry that I can't recommend this place. Think I've been here twice and never again. It's super crowded, not a pleasant ambience, cheese tastes very processed and just plain bad food. Seems like they have a regular bar clientele, but I don't even remember the margaritas being good. Maybe they were so strong that I can't remember?! Maybe that is why they are still in business. I never plan to go back unless there is a new owner.

I give this place three stars because it a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant with below average food. The margaritas are worth it and you will definitely run into regulars sitting at the bar that a friendly. If the decor and food was better I'd give it a 4 star. The service was excellent considering they are short staffed (like everyone right now) and over worked with more tables than usual.

This is a good neighborhood bar and Mexican restaurant. The workers are friendly and the margaritas were good. We ordered the chili con queso appetizer. The waitress explained how it's made and it came out exactly as described. It was good but not good enough to order next time. The deluxe burrito was very good and would order that again. My wife had a combination dinner with a taco and enchilada and the portions were big enough that she needed a box to take some home. The prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was casual. I'd stop back.

Unbelievably loud. If you like to yell during dinner to the person sitting next to you this is the place for you. If you like mediocre food at high prices even better. Chips and salsa are from a bag and a jar at least that 's how they taste. Service is very slow. Usually I can find something positive to say about a restaurant but not here. Oh wait! The ice water was cold! Update: after about an hour or food came. The tacos were very good and so we 're the beans. The rice on the other hand had hard things in it. How long had that Rice been waiting on me?
