Dack Shack - LAKE PLACID

A gem of a restaurant/bar just far enough away from the main street to feel like a local hangout. Food is amazing, everything on their menu is a stunner with a few show stoppers scattered throughout. Generous portion size. Ordered 2 entrees and an appetizer for 2 people and we couldn't finish any of them.

Best burger in a box this year. Thick, juicy and delicious. Crunchy fries and exceptionally great herb mayo.

Great food, a beautiful selection of local brews and exceptional service. I had the fish and chips and a side of beer broken onion rings.

Crab cakes tasted good. Tuna Poke was terrible. Over time, perhaps hiding freshness. It was also muddy, not a good sign. Ate at the bar, and service was best. Christine announced when we arrived that they were secured on the kitchen, which is good to know. But our food came out quickly. She barked with some other customers who wanted to pick up their food. I'm not sure she wanted us to order food or not, I wish we didn't?

Food was good. Service was undesirable. My party and I felt as if we were second class costumers, forgotten outside. We noticed the other tables all received exceptional, superior service. Meanwhile, we received plasticware, petite plastic water cups and ketchup packets. The other tables received metal silverware, large pitchers of water and ketchup bottles. Milkshakes were outstanding.
