Steamboat Bill's Seafood - Lake Charles

Came to Louisiana to have some cajon food. I was disappointed with this place. Con: The service was lacking, the gumbo was watered down with the tiniest brine looking shrimp I've ever seen, and about 5 at that. The etouffee was lacking meat as well. Pros: the gator was very good as were the rolls. Boudin was ok. My overall take on the place if your looking for a short order fry house this place will do the trick. If you are looking for good cajon keep driving.

Not sure if he was the manager but he probably was, he was very nice greeted us and helped with the menu checked up on our table frequently along with another gentleman. The girls at the register area not so friendly or welcoming but great place!

Although the young lady behind the counter had a little bit of an attitude, the rest of the staff was quite friendly and welcoming. The food was outstanding, they did forget my cheesecake, I didn't need the extra calories anyways.

STEAMBOAT BILLS HAS THE BEST SEAFOOD IN THE WORLD! THIS WONDERFUL LADY STARTED THIS RESTAURANT HERSELF AND ALWAYS USED FRESH SEAFOOD! GOD BLESS STEAMBOAT BILLS, IN JESUS’ NAME!

This place was recommended by a local. The food was terrible. Ordered gumbo and shrimp. Gumbo was cold and shrimp was dry. Perhaps it was just an off day. Never be back. Definitely not for real seafood lovers!
