Ember Grille & Wine Bar - Lake Charles

The restaurant hostess did not want to honor our reservation because I made it with Open Table. She said they had no record of it and that they do not use Open Table anymore. She was not pleasant about it, but finally agreed to seat us anyway. By the way, it was a Sunday evening and they were not busy. Our waiter Simon was good and the food was good. Just hard to overcome such a rude greeting.

The food at this restaurant is excellent and the service is outstanding. While the prices may be high, the delicious taste makes it worth it.

I have dined at Vic and Anthony's in the Golden Nugget 10 times and it has always been great. This time, we decided to try Ember and it was a big mistake. The oysters and asparagus were excellent, as were the drinks. However, the $60 steak we ordered was terrible. We asked for it to be cooked medium, but it came out tough as leather. My wife suggested we not complain, so we didn't, but I was very unhappy with the experience.

My fiancée was completely surprised when I invited our daughter and her parents for her birthday at the restaurant. Simon made sure it was a complete surprise and provided us with excellent service. Thank you Simon!
