Being from melbourne where we are spoilt with good coffee and have the best in the world i am surprised that they delivered quite well! The best so far i had in manila. Burger was a disappointment but all in all becAuse they have good coffee. Im quite happy!
The food here is always excellent and the ambience very relaxing. It 's easy to sit for hours and forget about work or appointments. My favourite crepes are the Campagne (bacon cheese with jalapeno and the Churro Crepe (served with a small cup of drinking chocolate . Please note that the menu here is slightly different from other La Creperie outlets. And it 's not just about crepes: the secret weapon is the eggplant moussaka. Wow, this is awesome. So creamy and tasty.... and thankfully it 's not vegetarian. I 'm surprised that a few reviewers were disappointed by the crepes. Maybe they were expecting local style pancakes with lots of sugar? The crepes at La Creperie are typically French. I have been to Paris many times and used to visit towns in Normandy very often. The crepes tasted exactly like this. They are supposed to be humble with a 'homemade ' country style taste. When I walked into La Creperie at Burgos Circle, the decor reminded me of some of the bistros in Calais and Dieppe. Even the chairs look the same (but I 'm not sure about the deer on the wall . Yardstick coffee is the icing on the cake here. Discerning reviewers appreciate Yardstick, don 't they? ; I found out that Yardstick varies their blend for each restaurant, at the request of the owners. The blend at this outlet is a mix of premium Brazilian and Sumatran beans. Super smooth but with a kick. The music here is ok and not obtrusive. Maybe Edith Piaf and Charles Aznavour are not everybody 's taste. Thank God they don 't play Serge Gainsbourg.
Ok. This is it. I have been looking for a good crepe cake since I had Starbucks chocolate crepe cake (but that one's seasonal so, Boooo to you) and I have found it. Mille Crepe Cake is sooooo good. This. Is. It. They serve various crepes, Cafe Breton like. I can even eat just the crepe and not the filling and I'd be happy. It's not for sharing. I will fight with you, I have a fork! But I ate a slice with my husband so I had no choice. But get your own piece. It's just a little over a hundred and you have to have it with coffee. The place is so sweet and cozy, a bit small but that's ok. The menu is in French but just nod your head while the waiter mentions the specials and try to read the english description and you'll be fine. Magnifique!
Ambience of the place is very relaxing perfect for those who just want to chill out on a weekend afternoon. I've ordered their USDA Angus corned beef, it was a chunky style corned beef and the taste was good. What I'm impressed was when I ordered their chocolate drink named Angelina, it was great and it was something that I've never tasted before. For around P200 it's worth its price.
La creperie has nice interiors. I've only tried the crepe here though they offer a lot more. I really like their crepe though. Simple but the taste is exactly what you expect.
