Contribuiți la feedbackEverything we ordered is good, especially the Classic Mac n’ Cheese and Death by Chocolate cake. I would have given them 5 stars if not for the crew. : I understand that we were just booked via Eatigo’s 50% off but that’s not an excuse to be blunt. Parang ayaw niya kami doon : though he’s attentive, he doesn’t smile the entire time we were there. Na-compare pa namin how he served the foreigners. Anyway, we’ll definitely come back and shrug it off, hoping he’ll improve We ordered Manhattan Clam Chowder, Mac n Cheese, Moe’s Salad, Eggs and Steak, and Bowery Steak. All good, I swear!!
I had high expectations coming in the restaurant because of the high zomato ratings and good reviews. I haven't been to New York but those who experienced the city swore that the place had a New York vibe to it from the food to the interiors. We dined on a holiday but surprised that the place wasn't too full. For dinner we orders their Mac n Cheese with bacon bits, short rib grilled cheese, chicken pita kebab, spinach corn fritters and roasted Rosemary chicken. The classic Mac n cheese is the most recommended dish to try when dining in Bowery and I understand why. It was creamy but light and perfectly seasoned. I just wished that they used macaroni instead of a fusilli pasta. Sorry, I can be a purist when it comes to traditional pasta recipes. Short rib grilled cheese Grilled cheese already sounds heavenly then the Bowery decides to add shreds of tender short rib meat that had a sweet tangy smokey flavor to it. Plus toasted bread BAYM goodbye diet! The serving is huge. There were two skinny girls on the next table and they shared this dish for dinner. Tip when dining with friends when ordering this dish Have the kitchen slice it in portions to everyone gets to taste how awesome this sandwich is. The roasted Rosemary chicken wasn't out of the ordinary but it all of a sudden turns into a swan when paired with the Parmesan Polenta (cornmeal paste often boiled and baked and common in Italian dishes) and red wine steeped cherries. Very Alta! But seriously I love the turn out of the flavors when all three are combined a gastronomical treat! The chicken kebab pita came with two sticks of generously portioned chicken kebabs marinated in spices. You can tell from the smell the play of spices used in the chicken marinade. It was served in a bed of cabbage, lettuce, tomato and onions inside a pita bread with potato chips on the side and garlic sauce. I like Mediterranean food and spices but I think for this dish it was a bit overpowering especially when you already eat it together with the veggies. The potato crisps was delicious. The garlic sauce was mediocre. The chicken was tender and wasn't dry so still the dish deserves a thumbs up. Tip, you can share this dish just order an extra pita bread. The spinach corn fritters was fun, I like the play of textures in my palette. Flavor wise nothing mind blowing but I like corn and breaded food so I really enjoyed the appetizer. Ambiance is pretty sleek and sophisticated. Food presentation is Instagram worthy. I would wanna go back and try the place for brunch and late night drinks. They're open 24 Hours which is awesome for those like me who gets hungry past midnight. A bit pricey but worth every penny. Recommended place to bring your date for some casual dinner than a bit of drinks after.
Bowery is located in Forbeswood Height, Burgos Circle, Bonifacio Global City. I was invited by Hungry Pants and Chef Jay's Kitchen, my so generous and loving foodie friends to join them for their food crawl today in BGC. I had the chance to try out their Moc’s Sweet Chile Beaner and their Brioche Fresh Toast with sliced fruits on the side. Moc’s Sweet Chile Beaner, P280.00, a generous serving of mixed Arugula, Spinach, Roasted Peppers, Avocado, Black Beans, Parmesan Cheese, Sweet Chili Vinaigrette and Cilantro. A fresh tasting salad with a bitter taste at the end. I liked the taste of their sweet chili vinaigrette on this. Masarap without reservations. Brioche French Toast, P260.00, French toast with Cinnamon Sugar, Fresh Fruit, Whipped Butter and Honey. I would definitely would like to wake up with this French toast on my table (even at bed). The toast is creamy and moist inside. You can actually eat the toast alone but the butter and honey is also perfect. Definitely masarap without reservations. My personal foodie rating for the restaurant: Food: 4.0 Service: 3.0 Place: 3.0 Happy Eating, Foodie Day Out
In search for the best Eggs Ben in the metro, I, together with two of my foodie friends went to The Bowery after knowing that this place serves awesome Eggs Benny). However, we came on a Monday and sadly, they only offer the dish on weekends! It was brunch so we settled for their brioche french toast with sliced fresh fruits on the side and their Moc 's Sweet Chile Beaner Salad Salad (Arugula Spinach Roasted Peppers Avocado Black Beans Parmesan Cheese Sweet Chile Vinaigrette Cilantro). The latter looked sad as it was so green and there was no other pop of color in it. I thought it would taste so plain and boring but I was surprised on how good it tasted! It was something beyond your usual salad, one that would easily transport you to some foreign land familiar to us asians (must be the cilantro that made me think of Thailand). I also like the kick of the roasted peppers and the sweet vinaigrette. The parmesan cheese gives balance to it. Truly delightful! Next was the toast which my friends enjoyed.. I, on the contrary prefer it with a bit of a crunch and not as soggy. It would also taste better if they added more cinnamon powder/sugar to it. Service needs to be improved. They should be open at 11 but at 11:15, the sign says theyre still closed. Chef Jay 's Kitchen had to stand in front of the restaurant and ask what time it really opens, and when he said its already 11:15am, thats the only time they (in this case, Im guessing its their manager or supervisor, who was still using about two tables to probably record sales, supplies) opened the place. The staff looked lazy and not as accommodating. Seems like they caught the weekend hangover and gives off that I hate Mondays vibe again, at 11am! Anyway, I love the ambiance and will still go back for their Moc 's Salad and possibly on a weekend to try their famous Eggs Ben!
I liked my dining experience here except for a tiny observation that was a major put off for me. Their server treats foreigners a tad better than locals. Let's talk about food now. As for their food, they come in big servings so that explains the price. I ordered short rib grilled cheese sandwich and buttermilk fried chicken and waffles. I'm not a fan of caramelized onions so I had to remove them from my grilled cheese sandwich before taking a bite. I wasn't a fan of their sauces neither. I found them way too flavorful that it takes over the flavor of the food. But i looove their grilled cheese! As for the buttermilk fried chicken, it was way too oily for me, but i liked their buttermilk waffles even without a syrup!!
