San Giorgio Trattoria - La Dorada

Friends in Bogota introduced us to this lovely little neighborhood restaurant...what a great surprise....service was warm and wonderful felt like you had walked into someone’s home for dinner....great variety of dishes all based on recipes from their grandparents. One could also order half orders of pasta as a main course. Try the Italian version of ille flottante for dessert....delicious!

On my first day in Bogota I ventured out to get something for dinner. I came across the San Giorgio what a great find. I was greeted at the door by the maitre Andre who greeted me with a smile and showed me to my table. Andre would stop by regulaly to chat and make sure everything was in order. My waiter was Alberto who was well versed in the menu and also made sure everything was good with me as I dined alone. The food was delicious. The place itself is romantic is suitable for a couple as well as families. If you are in the neighborhood treat yourself a little bit of Italy and Bogota Colombia. Lo único bueno del restaurante es la ubicación y la ambientación. De resto no rescato nada. Pésimo el servicio, el encargado de los meseros tenia una actitud desagradable y grosera. La comida muy regular, esperaba mucho mas de este lugar.

Ya conocíamos el restaurante por haber pedido un domicilio (lasagna) y por el helado.Decidimos probar almorzar porque ya nos había gustato y queríamos probar la pasta porque todavía no había encontrado una pasta que se pudiera comparar con la pasta italiana hecha en Italia.Yo soy italiano y... me gustó, mucho. La primera (y única) pasta que me convenció.Había conocido el dueño (Mario) que me había dicho que los ingredientes son italianos... no le creía al comienzo pero después de este almuerzo pienso que si, los ingredientes pueden ser italianos!Las pastas ordenadas excelentes (funghi y boscaiola), bueno y atento el servicio, precios buenos y ingredientes de calidad. Regresaré!

El lugar es muy agradable, la comida es deliciosa con variedad de opciones para escoger. El servicio es excelente Recomendadisimo !!
