The baklava, for instance, appears quite large when compared to what is typically found in Melbourne, and naturally, the pricing reflects the size. Here's what I tried: Bougatsa ($8). This Bougatsa is a pastry filled with custard and topped with a dusting of icing sugar and a sprinkle of cinnamon. It boasts a pleasantly soft texture and is perfectly balanced in sweetness—definitely not overly sweet at all.
Incredible Greek cuisine and desserts! There's so much more on the menu than just souvlakis (which they excel at). Our experience was delightful, with freshly prepared dishes rather than mass-produced options. The galaktoboureko, coffee, and pastitsio were outstanding. The restaurant was bustling with Greek patrons, all in search of something special. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The owner provided warm and friendly service.
Glyko Kafe is a family-run Greek café that we visited daily during our week-long holiday in Capel Sound for fresh coffee. I even brought my own cappuccino machine, but their coffee was so delicious that we opted for theirs instead! The service is excellent, and the young woman who prepares the coffee is truly an asset to the business—she's friendly and crafts fantastic drinks. They also offer a wide selection of homemade Greek desserts that are quite tasty, though they are a bit on the pricey side. The ambiance is decent but tends to get quite loud because of the concrete flooring and lack of sound absorption. The furniture is quite average. Despite these minor drawbacks, I highly recommend stopping by!
