Contribuiți la feedbackI reside in Tokyo and this establishment was far superior in authenticity and taste compared to any Mexican restaurant I have tried in Japan. Even during a non-tourist season like Corona, this restaurant was still one of the most popular spots we encountered. They offered a wide selection of Mezcal and the food was absolutely delicious. They even had a separate vegetable menu, labeled in English, with vegan options available. The tostadas were outstanding, and the guacamole was fresh and beautifully prepared. The staff was friendly and attentive, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Portions are a bit small, but that means you can try several things and you want! I had guacamole and chips, a vegan burrito and a vegan taco. Let them know if you are the chalkboard above the kitchen for vegan tacos. Get a margarita or two:
My partner and I arrived late in Kumamoto after a day of travel and were delighted to find Tortacos open and offering several vegan options. The staff was very friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming with many locals dining there. The menu clearly labeled vegetarian items and noted that certain items could be made vegan. I added the vegan chorizo from the Specials Board to my Burrito, but due to a language barrier, I ended up with two small Burritos, which turned out to be okay as they were not very filling. The Burrito was packed with salad and fresh vegetables, but lacked rice and contained a black bean spread instead of whole beans. My partner enjoyed the veg enchiladas, which were filled with tasty potatoes. Overall, it was a satisfying vegan dining experience in a city with limited vegan options, although the food was somewhat average in quality and on the expensive side.
The food is tasty, but a bit pricey for the portion sizes. I recommend asking for no milk and opting for corn tortillas. Don't forget to try the Mango smoothie as a substitution.
