Cancun Mexican - Knoxville

This place was a disappointment. I recommend choosing a different Mexican restaurant. The service was awful—our server hardly checked on us and didn’t offer any drink refills. The cheese dip got cold while we waited for more chips. It took 45 minutes for our food to arrive. The server attempted to blame the delay on a big party at another table, and then just shrugged it off. Proceed with caution if you decide to go!

We recently started visiting this restaurant, and we really enjoy it! The food is always served hot and accurately. The servers are friendly and attentive, and the place is clean both inside and outside.

The food was great, and the margaritas were excellent. While it may not become my favorite restaurant in Knoxville, I will certainly return. The portions were generous, the flavor was satisfying, and the carnitas were tender and delicious.

The food was average. We weren't sure if we could just get the salsa but we saw other people getting it so we went and got some. The server did not explain the salsa bar. The green verde salsa red salsa was super fermented and hard to eat. Tacos onthe menu stated garnished with onions cilantro but when it came out it just had the steak only. Overall not a good experience.

I gave a 4 star but in reality it's a 2 star rating. The waitress was nice. The service was good. I give a 4 star to her but a 2 star for the food. The ambiance did not make me feel welcomed. I was even impatient while reading the menu. Maybe it was thelack of lighting. The prices were too expensive. The salsa was hot (as in picante). In fact too picante as I had to put lots ofsugar to cut the acid. There were not many choices on the menu (see pictures). And not much for lunch specials either. Thetortillas were not warm. I ordered the Chicken Fajitas. The chicken was cooked but almost had no flavor. For once the rice hadflavor, but it was dry. The lettuce tasted funny and the texture almost tasted paper/plastic. The guacamole was ok. The pico deGaillo did not have much taste. In fact there was not much of it, just a few pieces of tomatoes and cilantro. Usually I bringhome the left overs but not this time. As you can see there is left over on the plate. I'm definitely NOT coming back here evenif someone else is paying. Update: I hope the lettuce is not part of the recalled ones and they used it because I'm not feelingwell. And I hope I don't have heartburn later because of the salsa.
