Figaro - Kingston

I've been visiting this place for a year now and enjoy the food every single time. Beers and wine selection is great compliment to food. I'd rate it as best Italian in Kingston.

A terrific setting in Kingston on the popular dining strip. The food and service was excellent. The waitress knew her food and wine. Her advice was excellent and we appreciated her insight. Favourites on the menu were the grilled salmon, mushroom risotto and veal. Make sure you check out the specials board. The tiramisu was to die for. The best dessert I've had in a while. I will be back and would recommend to others.

We wandered down into Kingston having arrived earlier that evening. The menu had enough basics for the kids and enough interest for the adults. I love gnocchi, so I had the gnocchi with veal Ragu. I was very happy with my choice, the gnocchi was light and the meal very tasty. My wife had one of the risottos which was also well done, although the parmesan cheese was not to her taste. Kids loved the pizza and calamari. Kids could also draw in the paper table cover which kept everything relaxed and peaceful. Staff were attentive and good arrived promptly. We would go back. One hint, if it's a cold night get a table on the wall away from the opening door.

Thought this restaurant looked good and the blackboard menu read well . I can only say everything about this place could only be rated average at best .The calamari entree , along with the vegetables that came with the mains , looked like they came fresh from the pack . The lamb chops main was heavily spiced , dark and had little to recommend it . My wife's barramundi was fine but the wine , at $13 a glass , ie roughly $78 a bottle is just a little bit of a severe rip off !Oh and the service , average .Not sure if I was expecting too much but , if I was , I was definitely disappointed.Just couldn't recommend this based on this effort .

Sorry to have to say this but last night I had a very bad experience here. The food and the service did not impress me one bit. When the waitress finally came to take our order she didn't even speak she just stood there with the pen and paper looking at us. I ordered the pesto pasta and it was inedible. I didn't eat any of it at all! There was no basil in it it was ridiculous. The sauce on the pasta tasted like cream, cheese and jar garlic mixed together. I would not call this pesto at all! I wouldn't be serving this type of food in a restaurant let alone my own home. It's embarrassing. When we went to pay for the meal the waitress didn't ask how our meal was and didn't even speak to us when we were paying. She handed the eftpos machine and turned her back to stack dishes. Unfortunately I will never go back here as I was disgusted in both the food and service.
