True Texas Bbq - Killeen

Absolutely disgusting! Gas station bbq has tasted better than this place. The brisket beans are gross, the brisket was mediocre, the coleslaw was slaw but not good and the potato salad was worst than the coleslaw. I also got peach cobbler and it was terrible, I ate a couple peaches out of the cobbler just to say I ate some but definitely was disappointed in that also. Don’t waste your time or money it’s plenty of better bbq places around

Great food! best bbq in Killeen. Everyone is nice the place is clean and it's the only place I can get my eastsiders beer on tap.

This was my first visit to a True Texas BBQ. I ordered the two-meat plate with turkey, burnt ends, collard greens, brisket beans, strawberry cobbler, and iced tea. The turkey was smoky, moist, and delicious! The burnt ends were very good except the pieces at the bottom had too much sauce for my taste. The collard greens were good. The brisket beans were very tasty with a nice piece of brisket in them. The strawberry cobbler was hot and delicious. The sweet tea was just about perfect. The counter service was a bit slow but friendly. The prices are comparable to about any other barbecue joint. They are in HEB and have plenty of seating as well as parking.

So this is an updated review. I have increased the stars because the food is usually good and the service is normally good. While I did go one time when they were supposed to be open, and they weren't, that was a one time thing. I have eaten here several times and I do really like the chopped brisket sandwich and brisket beans.Food: 3/5
