The Mad Monk - Killarney

Excellent Seafood service. The best on our trip to Ireland. They have a sister restaurant named Quinlan’s. Had the Fish Chips there. Had their Seafood Chowder at both restaurants, It is made from local and fresh Seafood. Excellent!

I read about the Mad Monk online before our trip to Ireland. We very much enjoyed our lunch and the service was excellent. Food was delicious and freshly prepared to order. A great stop on our travels around Ireland.

Great for seafood. Steaks look good, but was meat was too tough. So stick to the seafood. Mussels and the black sole off the bone was very fresh and tasty. A good place for a brisk but warm tasty meal.

The seafood at this restaurant was decent, but nothing particularly special compared to other local restaurants. The atmosphere was not unique, and our server was not very attentive, seeming disinterested. We were seated at a table near the kitchen with heat lamps shining directly in our faces, which made for an unpleasant experience. It felt like they seated us in a less desirable spot while more preferable tables remained empty for locals. Overall, we would not return or recommend this restaurant.

This is the best fish you can eat, fresh and perfectly prepared. We had the octopus and the mussels as starter, heavenly. As main we had the sea bass filet and the crab claws. Here you can eat some fish which you cannot eat in any restaurant. Also wonderful and great service of all the staff
