The River Merchant - Kent

Waited quite awhile to be able to sit outdoors on a Wednesday night, but glad we waited it was beautiful. We had Bugers, requested medium, but unfortunately cooked well done so they were dry and the fries were over cooked and hard. Told waitress, she said that we could return them, but since we waited so long to get our dinner we didn't have time to wait for a new meal. Disappointed and although it's a pretty location, I would not recommend nor will I return.

Food is fantastic, the options are unique yet interesting. The cocktail and beer list are always top tier and it's fun to see what changed on them every time I visit.

Great food and such friendly people! A variety selection of wines and craft beer. Beautiful outdoor space and views of the river! I highly recommend sitting outside. It?s such a calming and scenic space.

This is really a great place to eat. My wife and I used to live in Kent for about 16 years and remember when this was just a wine store. It's so nice inside and they also have seating outside on nice days. I had the chicken Florentine $24), and my wife had the harvest salad $14). I also had a small glass of house wine. She loved her salad and my Florentine was very good but the chicken was charred a little too much in places and actually burnt. The service was adequate seeing how it was only 4:30pm and the place was about 80%full already. All in all a good experience but felt it was a bit pricey. Our bill after a 20% tip was $80! I will say that I would rather spend a little more for good food like here, than pay the same price for average food or worse. We will be going back.

The atmosphere was lovely and staff was friendly! The food was good. My pesto grilled cheese was slightly warm but not hot. The flavor of it was delicious though. The mixed greens salad was fresh and had good taste, just a little dry and needed a bit more dressing. All in all, the taste was lovely and the ingredients were fresh. I plan to come back, especially so I can sit outside when it?s warm out for the nice view.
