I specifically go there for Dungeness crab from their live tanks. I've enjoyed some truly spectacular crabs there, comparable to anything I've had in Dungeness and its surroundings, which is saying quite a bit. The main draw, of course, is its availability and pricing—there are very few live tanks in this large coastal city, which is quite surprising. You could pay $25 at Redondo or just $10 here; it’s an easy decision. While you can buy spider (sheep) crabs and rock crabs at Quality Seafood, make sure to get your Dungeness crabs here. They also sell live fish and have great deals in the frozen section, including bags of dry scallops and mussels. The staff is wonderful and very friendly. Just make sure to pick the right time; otherwise, you might find yourself stuck on the 10 freeway for a long time. Also, if they happen to be out of crabs (which has happened to me once), you can try Nam Hoa around the corner; they usually have crabs available, and they are quite good. As far as I know, those are the only two places north of Redondo that offer such options.
