Z`s Tavern - Kalamazoo

This tavern has a Sunday brunch and cocktail menu that will please most people. We had there with a large family group Brunch, and the special for the day was a reuben eggs Benedict, which I found to be a delicious turn on the regular egss Benedict. Other dishes we had were also good, with good service and a good selection of cocktails and beer. The ambience was definitely eclectic tavern and the prices were moderate. We'd go back there.

Over time, I have engraved myself towards this place. And I'm not sure if I can even quantify why. Intangible.... The food is really good, but the menu is limited. Loves the veggie burgers and enjoyed their pasties and pizzas. Beer selection is decent if not as comprehensive as other places nearby. Service was always friendly and prompt. So... why? Why engrave if there is nothing on paper about the place that can lift it from all other places in the neighborhood. It's just such a place for those like me, things like something rustic and simple while it's good food. It's always quite crowded around dinner time, so obviously I'm not alone in this review. In a night they have GOOD bands, and a decent crowd, and you can't do much better for yourself.

YIKES! If you like a loud living place, that's it! It took a little to serve, not because the staff was not interested, just that it was THAT BUSY! Very professional and personal. Flipper and paddleball offers good entertainment. Live Band was a pleasure. Not tested for food selection; will do this at the next visit. Valuable beer selection. It'll be back.

We had very good food and heard some very talented students or recent graduates probably at West Michigan University.

My husband and I, went here for dinner, and both had the classic burger, with cheese, cooked medium-well. We both loved our burgers! The buns were soft, but toasted to perfection. The burger was grilled just right, juicy, and superior taste. Our burgers came with kettle cooked, salt and pepper potato chips. I recommend sitting inside if it's a windy day, so your chips don't blow away. 😁
