Shady Rest Family - Johnsonville

The food is amazing, and the people are even more fantastic. We absolutely adore this place!

I plan to eat here again once I’m finished with my current commitments. I typically order the fried chicken dinner, which has consistently been excellent because it’s always served hot. The staff is very friendly and helpful during my visits.

I only give this restaurant a review of the quality of food and food prices! After entering the restaurant, I saw that they had a shrimp and geese! Both people at my party ordered the special. We both waited 20 minutes to get shrimps. I also ordered a page of Fritten. The shrimps were fat, not fried crispy!!! The grottos Needless to say were not a southern grotto and they tried to make it fancy by removing corn from the taste of the grottos and I typical like grottos with corn in it but these were not paleable at all!!! Our side order of the frits was obviously cooked in the same cooking oil as the shrimps, because everything that was fried this night tasted like shrimp!!!! Their staff was very friendly, but I don't think they understand that by sitting there and staring at their customers, they feel uncomfortable. Check on your customers to ensure that they are all they need is acceptable!!! To stare them, however, is unacceptable! This restaurant needs to train her waitress a little better! You also need to think about not using your cooking oil so much again! When they reuse cooking oil, do not put so many different types of food into the same cooking oil!!! Otherwise a very picturesque peaceful establishment!

If you find yourself in Johnsonville, make sure to visit Shady Rest. The food is fantastic and available everywhere you look. The staff is incredibly welcoming, making you feel right at home. The meals are delicious, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable! We plan to visit Johnsonville every time we're in Myrtle Beach just to dine there.
