Arakin Ramen - Joetsu

Delicious traditional meal. It's from a family, I think they own the store that's attached. The service is slow, but the lady who takes the orders also makes cooking. It's definitely worth it! One of the best rams we had and local beer! We have ramen with an egg, Katsudon, 2 craft beers and Gyoza for about 3000 ¥.

Amazingly good food. Good prices. Popularly, may be best to book a table if you are in a busy time with a party of more than 2 as it is a small restaurant with not much seating.

We went here on the recommendation of our hosts in Akakura. Ramen is in the name, but they serve a wide variety of dishes. It 's half a general store/souvenir store, half like grandma used to make restaurant. We were concerned that our mom, who has Celiac, would not find something she could have on the menu. They worked with us, and we were able to get the cold tofu dish, tomato bacon skewers, and edamame for her. I had the beef curry, which was massive and very good.
