Oliva - Jersey City

I stopped by to check out their selection of fruits for some affordable bananas for breakfast. As someone not from Jersey City, I expected high prices but was pleasantly surprised at how reasonable they were. I also picked up some pre-cut mixed fruit which was fresh and satisfying. I returned the next morning to try more items and both times the staff at the cash register were friendly. Overall, I had a perfect experience without any hassle.

This restaurant offers a small but excellent selection of fresh products with a beautiful variety. However, the quality of the checkout service has declined recently. It used to be a pleasure to make purchases, but in the last few months, the cashier has become unhelpful, uninterested, and lacking in enthusiasm. Hopefully, the service will improve soon. There are three very similar shops within a 2-3 minute walk.

Honestly, this restaurant is smaller than others, but they have the best organic fruits and vegetables at affordable prices. Their pre-made dishes are also fantastic and a great value for the price. I would give them a 10/10 for their affordable and delicious options.

A little shop that packs a surprising variety of options. A limited selection of meats and fish is balanced out with very reasonable prices, and their wide range of produce is equally well-priced. Dry goods and dairy can run on the expensive side, but they also have a nice large selection of prepared foods (chicken/pasta salads, grilled chicken breasts or salmon filets, olives, veggies, etc) for an on-the-go lunch or dinner. Underrated gem is the octopus salad you can get in a small container. If there's one knock against Olivia's, it's a lack of fresh herbs available for purchase, but that's a problem common to supermarkets in this area too.
