I booked based on the menu that was posted on Open Table and a past dining experience. When we arrived, the restaurant had changed their menu to a set three-course menu for $72 but not updated that on the app. We were told the a la carte options were just as expensive as the going with the set menu. We decided not to dine at the restaurant. I got a notification from Open Table that we did not honor our reservation, which wasn’t the case; we showed up but didn’t like the limited option.
The server was helpful and knowledgeable with the menu and with recommendations. The courses was just perfectly portioned with a subtle taste, the bison was so tender and perfectly seasoned. It was a fine dining experience the we enjoyed with the view of lake and finished up with table side presentation of tiramisu.
Service was fantastic. We did the 3 course with wine pairing. Trout was dry and didn’t have much flavour. The infamous tiramisu was just okay.
We dined at Orso a couple of nights ago and had the pleasure of Kieran serving us! He was so fun and knowledgeable and made our experience a highlight of our trip. We went with the tour of Italy prix fixe menu and every dish was fabulous, the pasta and the duck and the tiramisu were so flavourful and well crafted, we chose the add on of foie gras and truffle risotto and we were pleasantly full at the end of the night! Thank you Kieran, Orso chefs and the Fairmont for a fabulous Christmas dinner!!
