Do only come for the Wonton Egg Noodles, not for the Bao or Coffee. Wonton Noodles and the Wontons are worth a trip here. The noodles are springy and mixed well with the thick dry sauce unlike what others say, it 's a balance of savory and not to overpowering. The meat Wontons in a bowl of soup are generous in size and amount (6 pieces). My 1.5 portion noodle+wontons cost me RM4.80 (2019). Then about the coffee, the Kopi C Kosong here cost you RM1.80 and it taste horrible, it 's like you 're getting this out of Ipoh area and should be avoided, ordering plain black coffee should be a better choice. Bao here not worth a mention as you can see my Kaya Bao is ridiculously unfilled with Kaya. Most of the time I 'm only eating the Bao but it cost me RM2.00 for this average size Bao. I 'll come and try out their other Bao again and update this review.
The coffee shop was very old style, no renovation, the food there was selling on affordable price. The wan tan noodles just average taste. Not as good in KL. Their wanton soup just normal under average. The braised pork leg taste good and soft enough to eat. The white coffee taste very bad. This is the worst coffee I’ve been tasted in Ipoh so far. I suspect the coffee was made by instant white coffee pack and just add in condensed milk to add sweetness and it was too sweet.
Wanton noodle not as good as suggested. The taste is quite bland, not enough of seasoning on the soy sauce mixture. Small portion of noodle making me quite hungry for more. No issues on the wantons as they are quite packed with meat. If they can add more portions in the noodle, it might match the price of RM5.30. The big pau is very big, as big as my hand. Unfortunately, not tasty as I assumed. Went to try it after being mentioned in TV. Quite disappointed. Fillings mixed with chicken pork with small portion of egg, tasted a bit sour for the vege inside. RM5.70 per piece. Very big but not worth the try.
安Currency old-style coffee shop. Owner is my father's childhood friend since the 1940s. Kaya ben, sweet noodles and hot coffee fantastic.
